Did you know sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes? As supporters of the Coon Rapids Community, the Coon Rapids Fire Department Community Fund wants to raise awareness and funds to help the young athletes in our area and surrounding communities detect potential heart problems early so they can receive proper medical attention and monitoring as they participate in high school sports and events.
The Coon Rapids Fire Department Community Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we are bringing together our community in our first ever Fire Ball Gala on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Bunker Hills Event Center to raise awareness and funds to detect heart conditions early. Tickets are only $75 per person.
A portion of our net proceeds raised through the Coon Rapids Fire Department Community Fund for this event will be donated to the Play for Patrick Foundation where they will provide a health screening for registered children (grades 8-12) at Coon Rapids High School on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
This event will also raise funds to purchase an AED that will be installed on the Coon Rapids High School Football Field to replace the portable one that’s currently used between multiple fields.
Registration is now LIVE. Don't miss the chance to be part of this life-changing event.
We are grateful to have Morgan Wolfe from KARE 11 emcee our event! Once a KARE intern, Morgan Wolfe has returned as the weekend evening anchor. She grew up in Blaine, graduated from the University of Minnesota and is honored to be home working in the Twin Cities at her favorite station.
